The climate

The summer thus extends from December till March, the winter from June till September. The climate is widely determined by the latitude: semi-tropical at the end of the island of the North, where the temperatures are always rather soft (13 °C in July, 23 °C in February),it is influenced in contrast, on the island of the South, by the sometimes violent winds come from Antarctica. The winter, we ski in the Alps and, towards Invercargill, it is not rare that it freezes. Rains are frequent all year long.
